據影片出品人張海榮女士介紹，電影《一個人的江湖》主要講述了“拳村”少年張小明肩負光復門派重任，仗劍闖蕩現代江湖，并邂逅了一位名叫李昂神秘男子的故事。 該片由“甄家班”成員喻亢及內地導演黃建業聯合執導。這也是喻亢在主演《追龍》后首次執導電影，作為圈內著名的武術指導，喻亢今年年初還被第37屆中國香港電影金像獎組委會提名最佳動作設計獎。黃建業此前也曾擔任電影《捉妖記》的執行導演。兩人的此次聯手，也讓影片在籌拍之初便備受期待。
