Aimee Mann曾是波士頓樂團 Til Tuesday的主唱,90年代開始個人生涯,自己成立公司SuperEgo,在個人網頁賣自己的專輯《Bachelor No.2》，發表了融合民謠兼流行且詞曲皆出色的專輯《Whatever Im With Stupid》。連著名導演Paul Thomas Anderson也公開表示他的作品《心靈角落》是Aimee Mann的歌給了他靈感。 其創作上多數運用的是folk和pop rock的結合，再加上傷感的歌詞和她醇厚沉淀，憂傷但堅強的歌聲，讓人能瞬間安靜下來，好像時間停止。   Aimee Mann另外為電影《心靈角落》所創作的主題曲《Save Me》，則使Aimee Mann入圍奧斯卡獎最佳電影歌曲。她曾3度在grammy里面獲獎。
