Murderdolls是由Slipknot的吉他手Joey Jordison和Static-X的吉他手Tripp Eisen組成一個sideproject樂隊。樂隊把主要風格定位于充滿侵略性的說唱金屬與活力十足的硬核朋克的相互融合，建隊之初只有兩名吉他手，在 1999年的Ozzfest音樂節(jié)上還有過表演。之后樂隊召入了主唱Wednesday 13、貝斯手Eric Griffin以及鼓手Ben Graves，并在2002年錄制發(fā)行了專輯Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls。

“許多孩子都會受到這張專輯啟發(fā)的，因為這不再是一張歌詞壓抑的專輯。”Murderdolls吉他手Joey Jordison說——他強烈意識到，從Slipknot到現(xiàn)在這套仍極其不穩(wěn)定的班底，這對他來說是個急劇的變化，“對于我來說和在Slipknot相比之下，這里的工作和以前的有些不一樣。我不在這個樂隊里做鼓手，我不在這個樂隊里戴面具，兩者的音樂相比之下也是天壤之別。盡管仍是以重金屬為主，但和原來的音樂相比我們有創(chuàng)新之處，因為——說起來也滑稽——現(xiàn)在的音樂更有旋律，更易于理解，這也一點沒錯，因為每樣事物都不可能總是那么沉重，總是那么壓抑的。”

另外值得一提的是, Motley Crue的吉他手Mick Mars在此專輯中作為客座吉他手獻藝。
