《功夫夢》(The Karate Kid)翻拍版是James Horner完成耗時兩年的《阿凡達》配樂后的首部作品，配樂原本由Atli Örvarsson接手，之后被James Horner替代，這也是他本人的第一部中國題材作品。片中賈登·史密斯飾演的美國小孩在北京與成龍飾演的古怪的功夫高手偶遇，并由此展開了一段傳奇般的師徒之旅，最終小賈登不僅在賽場上戰勝了對手，更加學到了中國功夫高深的內涵。
