25歲的喬安娜·邁爾斯（薩拉·米歇爾·蓋拉）是一家運輸公司的銷售代理，雖然事業有成，但私生活卻一團糟--不僅與父親（薩姆·謝帕德）疏遠，剛分手的前男友個性偏執、最近更是跟蹤她不放，而且因為性格強硬好勝，喬安娜甚至沒有幾個知心好友。

時時覺得自己的人生已經失控的喬安娜決定反擊，于是順著噩夢的指引找到了被殺女子的故鄉--德克薩斯州一個小鎮。到了小鎮之后，喬安娜更是覺得與那里有著說不清道不明的聯系。被埋葬的秘密即將被揭開，15年前小鎮上一場血腥的謀殺似乎與她有著千絲萬縷的聯系，而喬安娜很可能就是兇手的下一個目標……
