鋼琴名家Brad Mehldau，六歲開始學(xué)習(xí)古典音樂，十五歲時已在俱樂部中表演。當他在讀高中時期，就已獲得了爵士名校波士頓百克里音樂學(xué)院所舉辦比賽的最佳音樂獎。除了持續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)古典以外，他同時亦研究爵士樂與現(xiàn)代音樂。 1998年十一月美國Keyboard雜志評選出六位爵士鋼琴新星，Brad Mehldau為其中之一。與此同時Brad Mehldau也被爵士權(quán)威雜志Down Beat票選最佳爵士藝人前三名，成為爵士界新一代的鋼琴名家。
